What are Martial Arts?

Martial Arts are commonly practiced for self-defense. There are two main styles of Martial Arts; the Yin and the Yang. The Yang style arts are such arts as Tae Kwon Do, Karate, Jeet Kun Do, Shotokan, and other variations. These are called the "hard arts", and they are more physically demanding. They are designed to strengthen the muscles, teach self defense techniques, as well as strengthen the mind and spirit.

The Yin arts are the "soft arts" such as Tai Chi, Qi Gong, or Yoga. The Yin arts are designed to help calm the mind, teach relaxations skills and stress management.

Both Yin and Yang arts are beneficial for all ages. We offer both styles of Martial Arts, so that no matter where you are in life, we have an art for you. Any of our arts will help you become more aware of your mental, physical and spiritual state, as well as increase your self-confidence. All self-defense begins with self-confidence.
